More charges to be levied against Mexican trio soon

Belize City police say they will charge 27 year old Belen Hernandez, 26 year old Jacson Jafet and 31 year old Leonel Rodriguez for additional crimes. The Mexican trio was busted while in Corozal Town with 60 stolen international credit cards and a substantial amount of monies. They all have been charged with theft of about one hundred thousand dollars which they had been withdrawing from different ATMs across the country since last year November.  Tonight they remain behind bars as investigators prepare to lay more charges against them. On Tuesday Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo updated the media.

ASP Alejandro Cowo, Head CIB Belize City

“They are due in court sometime in the month of March if I am not mistaken. Yes, we are trying to work on other charges but we are waiting for the information from the different districts so that we can establish what will be the total amount of charges to be given to each person.”

The trio is expected to appear before Chief Magistrate Sharon Fraser on March 21.
