The National Institute for Culture and History (NICH) has partnered with an international pianist to host a charity concert. Tonight, Steinway artist Byron “BK” Davis will perform his show, titled ‘Invisible Secret,’ at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts. The event will feature Davis’s original music, including a song dedicated to Belize, and its proceeds will be used for stage repairs and theatrical programs at the Bliss Center. Davis is an artist from the United States, specializing in jazz, R&B, gospel, and soul. Yesterday, our newsroom spoke to Kim Vasquez Director of the Institute of Creative Art, about the event and the NICH’s partnership with Davis.
Davis first visited Belize in 2017 and says he fell in love with the country’s rich heritage and natural beauty. His performance will feature covers of Stevie Wonder and Lionel Richie and music from his album. Davis spoke about what the audience can expect and why he returned to Belize to give back to its creative sector.
Tickets will be sold at fifteen dollars for adults and five dollars for children. /
