Charred Remains Found After Bar Fire in Duck Run 1, Victim’s Identity Confirmed

The charred remains of a young woman were discovered after a structure was engulfed in flames. In the wee hours of Sunday morning, a bar establishment in the village of Duck Run 1 burnt to the ground. The remains of Michelle Mendez, a waitress at the bar were found in the debris later during the day. Love News spoke to the owner of the business, and he explained that no one was aware of Mendez being in the building. 

“The house that burnt on the side belongs to my mother. There were only two people in the area, one of whom is my mom and the next was a woman who helps with the business to the side. The woman ended up being burnt in the room where she stays and no one was aware of her presence there. I was out having dinner with my daughters and didn’t think much of anyone’s whereabouts. It wasn’t until I returned to the business and asked where she was to which I was informed that the woman left. We all assumed it was to take a walk with a male friend. I left it how it was and didn’t think much of it because it is not uncommon for workers to leave unannounced.”

The bar owner explained that he never for Mendez’s whereabouts because it is very common for his workers to leave without announcing it.
