Chetumal Residents Will Have Access to Tourist Cards to Enter Belize

Mexicans from Chetumal will now be able to visit Belize even if they don’t have a passport. According to a reputable Mexican news outlets, the Director of Tourism Development, Luis Gonzalez Salazar, said that Chetumal residents will be able to acquire a tourist card that will allow them to stay in Belize for up to seven days.  Gonzalez Salazar emphasized that this measure will greatly benefit the Chetumal residents.  He added that this initiative arose after a meeting between representatives of his municipality and authorities of the Belizean consulate.  It is geared at encouraging the advancement of the economic and tourist exchange between both countries.  The tourist cards will come at a fee, however; the cost and date of implementation are not certain at this time.
