Where do children learn how to be bullies ?

Do the Right Thing Pedestrian Crossing School Safety Program has recently completed its tour in schools in the Cayo District, where they shared safety tips with children and teachers. Adilee McKoy of Do the Right Thing Pedestrian Crossing School Safety Program told Love News that Belize has become a violent society where even the children are displaying violence amongst themselves.

Adilee McKoy,Do the Right Thing Pedestrian Crossing School Safety Program:  “In the school setting there is always bullying, violence, aggressiveness amongst children, but these children see these things from the adults the actions that they display also. When they go into the school setting they do the same things. The school has begun like a little hospital, a little mental place. They are like the parents so they have to deal with the issues that the children bring from home so their reaction most of the time is that they love the children that they have to teach and they also love this program because we come to educate them on the issues that are social. Sometimes the same things that the teachers are trying to get through to the children is what we come and try to get to them also.”
