Christmas Eve Machete Attack in Punta Gorda

There were several incidents of crime over the Christmas holiday, including three murders.  The first report came on Christmas Eve at around three in the afternoon.  Police in Punta Gorda were called out to San Antonio Village where they found 20-year-old, Francisco Cal with multiple chop wounds.  According to the Police blotter, Cal was socializing with fellow resident, Pacifico Ogaldez, when an argument started.  Ogaldez reportedly took out his machete, and chopped Cal to the right ear, the left ear and the left side of his head.  Also injured amid the fight was another resident identified as Simeon Bul.  The men were treated at the Punta Gorda Hospital, and 39-year-old, Ogaldez was detained by Police.
