Members of the Cinderella Plaza Taxi Cooperative in Belize City have been discontented over these past few days. They say that the Belize City Council has not been listening to them. Recently, they were up in arms due to work being carried out by the Council at their booth. Initially, the men thought the booth would have been completely demolished; however, it was undergoing a renovation. President of the cooperative, Philip Martinez, says that they are still not happy with the council as their renovations have caused them to have to remove their makeshift urinal.
Martinez said they have tried to dialogue with the City Council, but their efforts have been fruitless. Love News spoke with Councilor Albert Vaughn of the Belize City Council, who explained that it is not the council’s responsibility to provide a restroom for the cooperative. He further stated that the council seeks to clean up and beautify the area for the residents.
