Clarita Pech Appointed Acting Clerk of the National Assembly

Clarita Pech has been appointed as the Acting Clerk of the National Assembly.  Her appointment comes following the resignation of Eddie Webster whose exit was effective on June 30, 2024.  Clarita Pech has worked at the National Assembly for 25 years and has served as Deputy Clerk for just under 15, and has acted in such capacity on several occasions. This is not her first appointment as Acting Clerk.  Pech holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Sector Management from the University of Belize and certificate courses from the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association’s virtual academy on parliamentary mechanisms.  With responsibility as the Acting Clerk, Pech also serves as the Accounting Officer for the offices of the Contractor General, the Ombudsman and the Integrity Commission.  Her appointment takes effect Monday, July 1, 2024.
