Coast Guard out on bail

Hurl Hamilton also spoke to us about another client, 23-year-old Brian Orellana, who was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of wounding and one count of discharging a firearm in public. Hamilton told us that Orellana has also been released on bail.

Hurl Hamilton, Attorney

Hurl Hamilton, Attorney: “We were able to secure bail for Brian Orellana, he got bail in the sum of $10,000 as well and two sureties in the sum of $5,000 each. I’m only instructed as it relates to the bail suffice to say that he denies any allegation. He strenuously denies the allegation that any of those offenses that he was charged for that he committed those offenses, those are the brief instructions I’ve gotten and clearly I would get further instructions from him when the substantive matter comes up and there are conditions placed on his bail in that they are not to interfere with the virtual complainants, they are not to interfere with prosecution witnesses and they must report as in the case with Orellna he is to report to the Belmopan police station every Friday starting next Friday.”
Reporter: What’s his stance in the Coast Guard? Have they relieved him? Will they relieve him?
Brian Orellano

Hurl Hamilton, Attorney: “Well that is an administrative matter by the Coast Guard. I would want to think that is in the policy of any government service that there may be some administrative action taken against Mr.Orellana; none has been taken and I have instructed my client to proceed to work on Monday morning and that’s where we take it up from there.”

Orellana’s next court appearance is on November 5.
