Commissioner of Police Chester Williams has responded to the outlandish claims made by self-proclaimed journalist Joseph Budna. Yesterday, Budna, who is out on bail after being charged with abetment to murder, claimed the government was targeting him. Budna alleged that the state is using the police department to keep him from going live on Facebook, where he often talks much ado about nothing. Today, Williams responded to the claims and denied them.
Reporter: Who is the individual who was killed in Honduras in relation to the Armando Coy Cacao case that Budna is now being linked to ?

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I’m not going to go into that.”
Reporter: But the person is dead.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I’m still not going to go into it.”
Reporter: And you won’t share a motive ?
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I know a motive but I will not say.”
Reporter: Well that’s important. You usually say motive in the past.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “This one I can’t say.”
Reporter: Why ?
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I can’t say.”
Reporter: That sounds suspicious. Then it leads into Budna’s accusations that these charges are trumped up .
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I don’t know how you get there. Honestly.”
Reporter: I get there because you’re being evasive.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I said…just because I don’t want to answer something means I’m being evasive ? Why would I want to trump up charges against Budna ? For what ? It makes any sense to you ?”
Reporter: Because he’s outspoken and has gone after some politicians.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “How many people have not been outspoken against me, against the government ? Do you see the police go after them ? No. Come on Marisol man.”
Budna also claims that the government is out to get him for exposing corruption.
