Commissioner’s Brother Arthur Roy Williams Faces Charges: Commissioner Explains Motives

Another character that has been known through social media is Arthur Roy Williams, the brother of the Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams.  Earlier this week, we told of the charges levied against him, brought on by the commissioner himself.  Today, the commissioner explained his reasons for filing the charges.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “During my mother’s ailing time before she passed my brother went to social media and referred to my mother with the “W” and the “B” word. No man should refer to a woman, especially his mother using the “W” or the “B” word. I took offense to it and I went after him and I told him that he ought not to refer to our mother in such a way and because I did that then I became the bad one. Him and I had already had a very good relationship. Every time he reached out to me for help I always helped him but since that particular incident he turned against me and then almost every day he was on social media posting negative comments about me trying to as best as he can to belittle me in every way possible and I reached out to our older brother and asked him to kindly speak to him to discontinue. My older brother spoke to him and he did not stop. I reached out to our uncle and asked out uncle to speak to him. Our uncle spoke to him, he did not stop and then I reached out to the Ombudsman on two different occasions because he is a driver for the Ombudsman I reached out to the Ombudsman on two different occasions and sent him the screenshots of what he had posted on social media and asked the Ombudsman to please speak to him to discontinue because he is out there doing what he can to have the public see me in a light that I am not and the Ombudsman said he spoke to him and he still continued. And I guess as a person there is only so much that you can do with all efforts made to have him stop doing what he was doing he did not so I am hoping that now with the matter before the court the court will be able to get him to discontinue. It’s sad that it reached to this. He is my brother. I don’t dislike him. I love him, we share the same mother, the same father and I wished that he had taken my advice in the light in which I had given it to him when he referred to our mother with the “W” and the “B” word and I have no regrets for that.”

Arthur Williams was charged with two counts of using a computer system to disseminate false information with the intent to cause another person to be subjected to public ridicule or embarrassment and one count of using a computer system to intimidate a person under the Cybercrime Act. The charges came after Williams used vile language to describe the Police Commissioner in several posts on Facebook, and attempted to slander the top cop.  Additionally, he had posted to social media that Chester Williams should die.  Commissioner Williams says he was hesitant to file the charges, but he was forced to after every other attempt at intervention had failed.  Arthur Williams is scheduled to return to court on March 27.
