POLICE PHONES

ComPol address the use of cellphones while on duty

If you pass the checkpoints frequently, chances are you have seen police officers utilizing their cell phones and distracted from what is happening around them.  Most times the officers at the booth are more reactive than proactive.

If you pass the checkpoints frequently, chances are you have seen police officers utilizing their cell phones and distracted from what is happening around them.  Most times the officers at the booth are more reactive than proactive.  It is a habit that the Police Commissioner is looking to change via a cell phone policy for police officers.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “We also have a cell phone policy that I will sign tomorrow which will limit the use of cellphones by police officers on the job because that too is creating some of the problem; the police officers are out there, they’re too much on their phone and they are inattentive whilst on duty that needs to change to that the public can get the level of attention and security they should be getting from the police.”
