COMSICA Concludes Meeting on Health Systems, Belize Hands Over Presidency
Today marks the end of the fifty-eighth Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Central America and the Dominican Republic, COMSICA for its acronym in Spanish. Health Ministers from across the region gathered in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye for the two-day meeting to discuss a number of issues affecting health systems of member countries. Belize has held the Pro tempore presidency of COMSICA since January and at the close of the session, Minister of Health Kevin Bernard handed over the presidency to the Health Minister of El Salvador. Love News spoke with Doctor Marvin Manzanero, Director of International Cooperation in Health with the Ministry of Health, explained that the resolutions passed in the COMISCA meeting were a major part of the gathering.
Minister of Health, Kevin Bernard, who held the pro tempore presidency of COMSICA was in El Salvador for the two-day meeting, to participate and hand over the presidency. The next COMISCA meeting will be held in El Salvador in December.
