Police are investigating three fatal incidents that occurred over the weekend. The first happened on Saturday afternoon some three and a half miles north of San Pedro Town. At around 1230, Mexican national, 40-year-old, Hever Badal Torres was on the roof along with three other colleagues carrying out construction works. Reports say that just after one o’clock, a loud thud was heard and upon making checks, Torres was nowhere near the north western part of the roof where he was last seen hauling sheets of zinc. The men then looked down to the ground floor and saw Torres, faced up on the ground. Medical personnel were called out to the scene, but Torres was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at around four o’clock in the evening at the San Pedro Polyclinic. He was observed with an open injury to the centre of the head, swelling to the right side of his head, a broken right elbow and multiple lacerations to the back. Torres was the foreman of a construction crew out of Mexico and was accompanied by 53-year-old, Pedro Rojas, 39-year-old, Salvador Villa Gomez Opengo and 37-year-old, Raul Mendoza Cruz.
