Construction Worker in Critical Condition After Ambush; Police Detain Suspects

Police are probing into a shooting incident last night that left a construction worker in critical condition. According to police, 28-year-old Jermaine Wagner was near the public pump on Antelope Street Extension when he was ambushed. Wagner was shot multiple times in the abdomen, chest, and both arms. He was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition. Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero says that police have detained several suspects and have established a motive.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “Information is that he was hanging with other persons at a yard at that address when a person approached and fired several shots towards his direction causing his injuries. He was taken the KHMH where he is admitted in a stable condition at this time. We have no suspects in custody, we are following up on this case. We have our patrols and our operations in that area, several searches are being conducted at this time to try to minimize any retaliation. Yes we had no incidents for the past months but we had this one last night.”

Reporter: Is Mr.Wagner cooperating with police ?

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “He is admitted and receiving treatment so as soon as he recovers enough then we will interview him.”
