Controversy Brews Over New Safety Measures for Carnival Road March

This week, the Belize City Council issued a press release that rolled out a series of safety measures for the upcoming Carnival Road March to ensure a smooth and safe celebration. The measures were met with much controversy as among the precautionary measures, strict regulations on parking and vending along the carnival route were announced. Love News got the opportunity to speak with Belize City Mayor, Bernard Wagner, who cleared up the misconceptions surrounding the press release stressing that vendors will still be allowed to sell their goods.

The designated vending areas will be conveniently located along the Carnival route, allowing vendors to reach attendees while ensuring that the main area stays clear for the revelers.  Additionally, the decision is being made with the Vendors at Digi Park in mind. Mayor Wagner elaborated on catering to the local businesses.

These measures are intended to ensure that attendees have a safe carnival.
