Convicted Murderer Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for 2020 Shooting

The man who was convicted of the shooting murder of Anthony Parks in 2020 was sentenced to life imprisonment. Shane Bennett was sentenced by Justice Madam, Antoinette Moore today in the Punta Gorda Supreme Court. Bennett was convicted of the murder in April 2022, after he pleaded guilty to the murder. Shortly after his conviction, Bennett attempted to escape custody, but he was captured and remanded to the Belize Central Prison. Today he was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole until after serving 25 years on remand. According to Park’s wife, on February 02, 2020, Bennett shot her husband four times following a dispute.
