Cop injured in Belize City

COP INJURED

There was a brief scare this afternoon when reports came in that a police officer had been shot on Mapp Street, Belize City. Tonight there are still various versions of what really transpired this afternoon including a story that he was being shot at and that he was pursuing suspected robbers. 

There was a brief scare this afternoon when reports came in that a police officer had been shot on Mapp Street, Belize City. Tonight there are still various versions of what really transpired this afternoon including a story that he was being shot at and that he was pursuing suspected robbers.  Love News contacted the Police Commissioner, Chester Williams who says it was only a minor accident and nothing more.  Commissioner Williams did confirm however, that there was a robbery on Baymen Avenue sometime before the accident.  The officer injured is Corporal Woodeye.
