Cop shot during armed robbery up north

A cop was shot this morning during an armed robbery in Corozal Town. The armed bandits targeted a store in the town and made off with over forty thousand dollars. But, during their escape, police were alerted and pursued the bandits. During the chase, the police officer was shot by one of the assailants as he ran in the direction of a picado road. The injured officer was transported to the hospital for treatment, while the thieves made good their escape. Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, shared additional details.

Late this evening police confirmed that the thieves targeted Almacen Shanti Store located on 4th Avenue. They escaped in a green GEO Prizm.
