Cops find two parcels of cocaine floating down South

Police have recovered two parcels of cocaine that are believed to be from a “wet drop”. Today, the Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams stated that two weeks ago the drugs were found along the coast of the Stann Creek District. According to Williams, while these instances may lead to tensions among persons looking for the drugs, the department does not believe the “wet drop” may have led to the recent crimes in the district.

Chester Williams, Belize Police Department: “We have heard of a wet drop in the South. This was about two weeks ago. I can tell you that he police did find two packs of cocaine along the coast of the Stann Creek district. One was in Seine Bight and the other was near Hopkins so we know that there was a wet drop but at this time we have nothing to indicate that these persons who are involved in the latest incidents in Dangriga are connected to any wet drop. But, there could be a possibility. We still can’t understand how friends could become enemies so quickly to the extent that one is taking the life of another so it’s something that we’re looking at.”
