A bee-farming family in the Corozal District became the victim of a break-in this week. But the crooks didn’t target the farmer’s home, instead, they looted the Esquivel and Son’s apiary and made off with over two thousand dollars’ worth of honey and bees’ wax. The incident has left the district’s bee-framing community abuzz with concern as the thieves seemed to have been knowledgeable about the company’s operations. Felix and Ezekiel Esquivel, the father and son who own the company, spoke to us about the unfortunate ordeal.
The family is now sending out a warning to other bee farmers in the district and is offering a reward for anyone with information about the incident
If you have any information, you can contact the family at 629-7273 or the nearest police station.
