An alleged incident at San Roman RC School in Corozal has sparked outrage and concern, although conflicting reports suggest it may be a case of miscommunication. Today, a woman made a post on Facebook detailing the troubling account of a young student. The post alleged the boy was walking home after he was turned away from participating in the school’s Children’s Day festivities because he could not afford the required $4.50 fee. The boy reportedly added that by the time a Good Samaritan offered to cover the cost, the school gates had already been closed for the day’s celebrations. Love News reached out to the District Education Center where the officer confirmed that an investigation is taking place. Our newsroom also spoke to his aunt, Lily Lin, who indicated that due to Misael’s impairment, it is hard to determine what exactly transpired.
After reaching out to the Ministry of Education Corozal District Office, they informed our newsroom that the investigation is currently underway with all parties involved. The officer had committed to an official press release but up to news time this evening, it was still pending.
