The Ministry of Investment, in collaboration with the National Women’s Commission and the Corozal Think Tank, successfully concluded a specialized training program at the Corozal ITVET. The course, titled “Cell Phone Repair for Women and Youth,” ran from August 19 to August 30, culminating in a certification ceremony and the distribution of essential equipment to the trainees. Over the course of the ten intensive in-person sessions, 13 women and 2 men participated in hand-on training designed to equip them with the skills necessary for self-employment in the growing field of cell phone repair. The course addressed a critical need for trained technicians capable of maintaining, cleaning and repairing mobile devices. The strategy of the program is to diversify Corozal’s economy by enhancing entrepreneurial skills, particularly within the Orange Economy.
