Council Clash: San Ignacio/Santa Elena Councillor Sandra Tosh Lanza Calls Mayor Trapp a Dictator

The circumstances surrounding an upset within the San Ignacio/Santa Elena Town Council are still being ascertained, but tonight, we can tell you that Councillor Sandra Tosh Lanza is not happy.  Lanza, who received the third-highest votes in last month’s municipal election, took her discontent to social media and called Mayor Earl Trapp, a dictator.  The first-time councillor went even further by writing, quote, “SISE Town Council, clean out your trash before I do; the people elected us, not a dictator.”  End of quote.  It has been less than one month since the new council was sworn in, but indications are that this spat may have to do with the selection of deputy mayor and the distribution of portfolios.  Mayor Trapp had indicated to Love News that he would have granted us an interview, but after legal consultation, he declined.  He did say, however, that he would seek to settle the matter internally, and have Lanza issue a public apology.  Up to news time this evening, the apology was not forthcoming.
