Country Meats Employees Robbed at Gunpoint in Belmopan

Two Country Meats employees were robbed in Belmopan earlier today. The men Francisco Melgar and Neptalie Gonzalez were making sales at Lindsey Mini Shop on Venezuela Street around 1:40 this afternoon when they were approached by two men who rode up on a dirt bike. One of the men pulled a gun on the duo and began searching them, they stole cellphones, cash and other personal items including a pocket knife. The robbers then demanded that the men hand over the money from their sales or they would stab Melgar with the stolen pocket knife. Gonzalez handed over a black fanny pack containing cheques and the robbers rode off. The value of everything taken in the robbery was over five thousand seven hundred dollars.
