The police are at an important crossroad: given the developments in the killing of Laddie Gillett and the suit filed by Bryton Codd and Doctor Gregory Nunez in a case in which police are accused of profiling. This week, Justice Westmin James determined that police cannot continue with this practice without a clearly defined cause for suspicion. The Commissioner of Police Chester Williams said that his office will look at the judge’s decision closely.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I guess that we need to look at the judgement carefully I have not received a copy of it so I cannot really comment on it fully. So I will just await for the judgement and when I get that in hand myself and the legal team will go through it and then we’re going to see what we can make of it.”
