The Convention on the Rights of a Child, CRC Ambassadors travelled to Dangriga where they distributed fifty backpacks to equip children returning to school with the tools necessary for them to thrive. Correspondent Harry Arzu filed this report.
Harry Arzu: CRC Ambassadors donated school supplies to some 50 students from Dangriga during an official event that was held at the Power Center in the Second New Site area of this municipality. Love News was there and spoke with Michael Fritz who is one of the CRC Ambassadors.
Michael Fritz, CRC Ambassador: “So our efforts here today is to distribute several backpacks to deserving young people to jump-start their school year. In addition to the backpack distribution, we are also doing a mini launch of our ‘Express yourself with Rights’ book; this is an interactive activity booklet that was created by the ambassadors themselves. CRC Ambassadors are the youth arm of the National Committee for Families and Children. Being that what we do as ambassadors is we educate people about the CRC which is the Convention on the Rights of the Child. We also do sessions about education interacting children with what the CRC is and how it impacts their daily lives.”
The CRC Ambassadors also took the opportunity to sensitize children on their rights under the Convention on the Rights of a Child.
