There was an attempted robbery at Dario’s Meat-Pie establishment on Hyde’s Lane over this weekend. The famous bakery was robbed of thousands of dollars, which were later recovered. The manager, Nicole Perdomo, and her mother, Ofelia Hernandez Perdomo, were both on the second floor of the establishment when the incident occurred. Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero, gave us insight into the incident.
Sr.Supt.Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head of National Crimes Investigation Branch: “Nicole Perdomo, 43 years, reported that whilst counting money at the establishment on the second floor two male persons came in who were armed with firearms and proceeded to steal an amount of Belizean currency and US currency in cash. As a result they received injuries, thereafter the male persons fled from the area. Quick police response and investigation led to the recovery of the money and we have several persons detained and we will determine what charges should be levied upon them by the end of today.”
Love News contacted Brent Hernandez, Son of the late Dario Hernandez, but he was unable to comment on the matter due to the investigation.
