Critical Rehabilitation Project on Philip Goldson Highway Scheduled to Begin

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing has issued a public notice to residents that critical rehabilitation project on the Philip Goldson Highway in Belize City is scheduled to continue at the Mile 3.5 roundabout.  The work is intended to address the unacceptable and continuing differential settlement of the underlying roundabout structure foundation at this location. Love News understands that a reinforced concrete-piled foundation will be constructed for the slightly larger second half, and the reinforced concrete circular slab and approaches will be re-constructed.  Works are scheduled to commence on September 25, 2023, and last six months. Disruption of traffic flow will occur; nevertheless, the free flow of traffic will be maintained. Occasionally, traffic will be restricted to one lane or diversions as provided.
