A Belize City woman accused of property damage faced additional charges after a court appearance today. Twenty-five-year-old Amber Usher, a resident of Crown Street, appeared in Court 2 before Magistrate Ludlow Black this morning, charged with damage to property. Allegations state that on Friday, July 4, Usher unlawfully damaged the speedometer and headlight of Clayburn Guzman’s motorcycle, totaling $107 in damages. Usher pleaded not guilty to the charge. She attempted to explain her side, but Magistrate Black advised her against speaking further after her plea. With no objection from the prosecutor, Usher was offered bail at $1,000 plus a $5 court cost. Conditions of her bail include not interfering with Guzman, meaning no calls or texts, and she must stay at least 25 feet away from him. Usher’s next court date is August 27. Court records also show Usher owed $315 in court debts, which she had to pay before posting bail. Despite meeting bail conditions, Usher was taken back to Queen Street Police Station to face further charges stemming from another incident.
