Dangriga Town Council Launches Project to Combat Erosion on Local Beach

The Dangriga Town Council has embarked on a project to save one of the community’s beaches. Over the past few months, beach erosion has heavily impacted the municipality’s Foreshore area, causing major concern among residents. The town’s mayor Robert Mariano says he became aware of the issue and wrote to the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) for assistance. Since then, large stones have been placed along the beach to restore the beach and stop erosion. This morning, Love News spoke to Mariano about the project and what it entails.

Mariano says the council plans to engage residents on how they can individually contribute to the efforts.
