An event to raise funds for Dara’s Feeding Program is slated for this weekend at the Bird’s Isle in Belize City. The event is a tribute to the late reggae artist, Lucky Dube, but it’s also a chance for the program to raise funds to help the city’s children. Kwame Scott told us more about the night of clean fun.
Like many charitable organisations, the impact of COVID-19 has zapped sources of funding and has forced a rethink for the future. The program’s founder, Joel “Dara” Robinson says that the program has had to reexamine ways how it can sustain itself during difficult times.
The event starts at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Bird’s Isle and the entrance fee is 10 dollars. You are also invited to bring perishable and non-perishable foods to the event as long as they are packaged and preserved properly. Monetary donations can also be deposited to Atlantic Bank account number: 211-573-215.
