It started as a regular police search at a residence in Santa Elena Town, Cayo District, but within minutes things got weird and a man’s nipple was burnt, allegedly at the hands of police. According to reports the Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) was looking for drugs and ammunition at the home of David Galindo. They conducted a search at the house at around six o’clock yesterday morning and ended up assaulting Galindo and burning his nipple leaving only burnt flesh. The incident has reached the ears of the Police Commissioner who says there is absolutely no justification to what was done.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I got the complaint yesterday and I immediately contacted Mr.Sutherland who is the commander of PSB and dispatched him to San Ignacio yesterday. I know he has recorded statements from the two brothers as well as witnesses they have also gathered some video footage that they’re viewing and from what I am seeing the police officers are wrong and they have to face the consequences of their actions. There is no justification for you to burn a person’s nipple and I don’t see the rational behind it at all.”
Love News understands that the beating put on Galindo may have caused some spinal injuries. Galindo is not new to the news circle as he was convicted of drug trafficking back in 2012. As recent as September 2019, the Galindo family was in the news again when David Galindo’s mother, Myrna Young was murdered inside their yard in Santa Elena Town. Investigators believed that Young was collateral damage as the bullet was meant for one of his sons who was in the yard with a friend.
