Decomposed body found in abandoned vehicle on Philip Goldson Highway, Belize.

The body of a man, who is believed to be a Belize City resident, was found in an advanced state of decomposition earlier today in an abandoned vehicle near mile 16 on the Philip Goldson Highway. Just after midday, police discovered the body slouched over on the driver-side of a vehicle riddle with bullet holes near Maxboro Village, Belize District. The man, who is believed to be Phozhaun Lewis, a gang member from Belize City, is suspected to have been murdered. However, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hilberto Romero, says that until a post-mortem examination is conducted on the man’s body, his identity and cause of death cannot be definitively ascertained.
