The Association of Defence Attorneys (ADA) has issued a strong statement of support for the newly appointed Chief Magistrate, Deborah Rogers. The ADA praised Rogers’ elevation to the post, applauding the fact that the position is being held by a Belizean. In a statement issued earlier today, the ADA congratulated Rogers, highlighting her innovative approach and her critical role in the country’s judiciary. They highlighted her commitment to justice, efficiency, and fairness, all qualities which the ADA upholds. The association said, quote, “We are confident that under Chief Magistrate Rogers’ leadership, the Magistracy will experience much-needed improvements. Her commitment to justice, efficiency, and fairness aligns with our own mission to ensure that the judicial system remains accessible and just for all Belizeans,” end of quote. The ADA also reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside her to enhance judicial efficiency, promote due process, and ensure greater access to justice for all Belizeans. Rogers was officially sworn in yesterday after being approved by the Judicial and Legal Services Commission back in January.
