28-year-old Dennis Emmanuel Brown appeared this morning in the Magistrate’s Court for a single charge of possession of an article with a blade. He appeared before Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts-Anderson in Court where he pleaded guilty. Allegations are that on Friday, March 6 whilst on Holy Emmanuel Street he was found in possession of a silver metal blade measuring 7 inches in length. The father of three was fined $100 plus a $5.00 cost of court fine of which he was ordered to pay by April 10, in default, 2 weeks imprisonment. In law, a person who is unable to give a good reason for having an article with a blade measuring a certain length can be charged with this offense. If the person is found with the article with a blade and is not a Fisherman and had it for the purpose of executing his work, he or she can also be charged.
