Derrick Gabb will stand trail for rape

47-year-old Derrick Gabb, also known as Wiz, has been committed to stand trial in the October session of the Supreme Court. Gabb was accused of raping a Canadian woman during a social. Today, Gabb appeared without his attorney before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford for a preliminary inquiry.  During the PI, Sergeant Macedonio Sanchez tendered into evidence as many as nine statements and several exhibits, to be used in the case against Gabb. At the end of the PI, Ford told Gabb that a prima facie case was established against him and that he would have to stand trial in the Supreme Court for rape. Gabb, who was arraigned on Thursday, April 12, 2018 for the offense of rape, was initially denied bail but was later granted bail of six thousand dollars. Today, his old bail was confiscated and he was offered a new bail in the sum of six thousand dollars plus one surety of the same or two sureties of three thousand dollars each which he was able to meet.   Allegations are that on Thursday, April 5, 2018, a 30-year-old Canadian Tourist, who went on a sleepover along with her boyfriend at Gabb’s home, woke up only to find Gabb allegedly raping her. Reports are that there is a video that the defence intends to use to show that according to Gabb, the sexual act was consensual
