“Devil” shot to his neck moments after Banks was murdered

And, moments after Banks was executed another man was shot to the neck a stone’s throw away, at the corner of Vernon Street and Amandala Drive. The victim, 43-year-old Kendrick “Devil” Walton, was inside a yard seated under a mango tree when two gunmen approached him. One of the men then opened fire on Walton before making good their escape. Walton was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His father, Ronald Johnson, spoke to our newsroom and believes that Walton may have just been at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Ronald Johnson, Father of Kenrick Johnson: “He’s a nice guy because the neighbourhood would tell you that he always looks out for them but the only problem he has is that he likes to drink but he doesn’t fool with anybody.”

Vejea ALvarez, Love FM News: So, you believe yesterday he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Ronald Johnson, Father of Kenrick Johnson: “Definitely, because those guys are trouble right? *Unclear* He doesn’t fool with those guys because what they told me was that the gangs were way by Patridge Street and Ebony. Right?”

Vejea ALvarez, Love FM News: Yes sir.

Ronald Johnson, Father of Kenrick Johnson: “And where my son stays by Rodgers, by the group place there, it’s all the way there that they came to shoot him. He’s alright but they don’t want him to talk with his stitch because he might strain something.”
