They say every penny counts and that’s what the fuel regulators are passing to consumers of diesel fuel. The Government issued a press release today announcing a minuscular decrease in the price of a gallon of diesel. It is as small as one cent, taking the price from ten dollars and thirty cents to ten dollars and twenty-nine cents a gallon. Another decrease is being registered in the cost of kerosene which is going down nine cents from seven dollars seventy-four cents to seven dollars and sixty-five cents. In its release, the government stated that the decrease is a reflection of the stabilization in the global availability of oil despite recent reduction in output by some OPEC countries, which have been offset by a drawdown of strategic oil reserves in the US combined with a moderation in demand. The new prices become effect at midnight tonight.
