Dilapidated house collapses on Pickstock Street

A two-story wooden structure collapsed this morning on Pickstock Street in Belize City. According to residents, the house had been abandoned since  November after Hurricane Lisa damaged its infrastructure. However, items belonging to the previous occupants remained inside. No one was inside at the time of the incident. Notably, in February, our newsroom spoke with Belize City Mayor Bernard Wagner about the likelihood of the structure collapsing. According to Wagner, the council made efforts to contact the owners of the property but their efforts were futile. Our newsroom will continue to follow this story
