22-year-old Dion White was arraigned today in court for murder the murder of 33-year-old Ezekiel Usher and attempted murder of 61-year-old Joyce Edwards. After five days of the investigation, police levied charges of murder, attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, dangerous harm upon Joyce Edwards, and aggravated assault with a firearm upon Gregory Williams. Allegations are that Usher was on Rio Bravo Crescent in Belize City when two men rode up and fired several fatal shots in his direction on Saturday night just after nine o’clock. Usher was shot to the abdomen and foot as he stood in a yard opposite his home. Caught in the middle of the shots was 61-year-old, Joyce Edwards who was driving by when the incident unfolded. White was unrepresented and appeared before Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts-Anderson where the charges were read to him but due to the nature of the offenses, no plea was taken and he was denied bail and remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until April 30.
