Domestic Dispute in Ladyville Ends in Stabbing, Man Hospitalized

A man from Rural Belize is hospitalized after he was stabbed last night during a domestic dispute. According to police, around 9:30, 23-year-old Shemar Bowen and his girlfriend were at their home in Ladyville when they began to argue. The couple’s quarrel escalated to a physical altercation and the two wound up outside their apartment complex. Bowen’s girlfriend then reportedly stabbed him in his abdomen. He was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where he underwent surgery. Reports say that Bowen in a critical but stable condition. His girlfriend was also treated for her injuries and later detained by police. Love News spoke with several residents in the area who indicated that fights between the couple are frequent, and that they have since turned a blind eye to the arguments.
