The family of 33-year-old Elena Reina is asking the public for blood donation. Reina is still in a critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH). There was a house fire on Flamboyant Drive in Belize City on January 2 that left eight persons displaced and Elena severely injured. Elena was in one of the houses that caught fire and she received several degrees of burns. Since the fire, Elena was in a critical state at the KHMH and only regained consciousness once. According to the sister of Elena, the Doctor has given up on her, but the family still has hope that she will make it out alive.
Sister: “She’s in a critical condition at the ICU and we are asking if anybody can donate blood. She is O positive and we need about six or eight bags of blood to give back to the blood bank. First she was doing a lot good but she dropped back and now she’s really doing bad. The could contact 667-2789 and Santos Reina. The doctors said they don’t really give her a lot of chances of making it out but like I always say God is the one that has the last word so that is what the family is looking forward to.”
If you would like to donate blood you can contact the sister at 667-2789.
