Driver of accident that killed 2 still not identified

Last night we reported about an accident involving four men from the Forest Home area of Punta Gorda. The accident which happened just outside of Punta Gorda totaled a 4-door Toyota Corolla and killed brothers 28 yearold Jamie and 27 year old brother Anthony Archer. The police gave an update on the case today and because of the extent of the damages and the injuries to the survivors, they cannot yet establish who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.

ACP Myvette: Punta Gorda police was called to an area a between miles twelve and thirteen  near the San Marcos junction in the Toledo District where upon arrival the observed a grey in color Toyota car extensively damaged on the left hand side of the road. They also observed three persons outside of the vehicle with varying degrees of injuries and those persons were later learned to be Anthony Archer twenty seven years, Dorian Romero twenty years and Jerry Cruz seventeen years of the Toledo district. Initial police investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling in a southerly direction when apparently the driver lost control. Police further searching the area of the scene after receiving information later shortly around 8:30 pm that night discovered the apparent lifeless body of Jamie Archer twenty eight years also of the Toledo District whose body was taken to the Punta Gorda Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. So far the police is unable to determine who the driver is as the other two occupants Dorian Romero and Jerry Cruz both remain in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. On today’s date shortly after one pm the post mortem is scheduled to be conducted on the Archer brothers and the police investigation into this matter continues, I believe samples were taken from all four persons in relation to this accident.

The two men who survived the accident, Darian Romero and Jerry Cruz are hospitalized at the KHMH.
