A post mortem examination is slated for Arita Vanzie, a 24-year-old businesswoman who was killed in a road traffic incident last week on the Hummingbird Highway. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett the other three passengers in the vehicle Vanzie was traveling in, have all been released from the hospital.
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “In relation to that issue the post mortem is scheduled for later today. All those other persons involved in the traffic accident have since been released from hospital. The driver has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution pending the post mortem results and thereafter it is expected that charges will be levied against him. At this point in time from what we are gathering it is believed to have been speeding but we are still investigating that angle of the incident. We know that the normal procedure was followed where samples were taken from the driver upon him reaching the hospital.”
