Drug Operations in the North Leads to Cop’s Arrest

A police officer was arrested and charged for the offense of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply to another. Reports are that 33-year-old Rosendo Cantun was arrested today at the Tower Hill Bridge in the Orange Walk District. He was stopped in a black Ford Escape where they found a black plastic bag that contained twenty-four parcels of cannabis. ////

Also in the Orange Walk area, police conducted an anti-drug operation at a residence yesterday where they found four Aguila brand ammunition and sixteen gauge cartridges inside a bedroom. 38-year-old Anibal Lopez, his wife 31-year-old Rosa Lopez were arrested for the offense of keeping ammunition without being granted a gun license. ////

Meanwhile, on the San Antonio Road, Orange Walk District a black plastic bag containing cannabis amounting to seventy-six grams was discovered. The suspected cannabis was deposited as found property.  ////

Searches also took place in the Corozal District. One point nine grams of cocaine and one point nine grams of crack cocaine were found at the home of 27-year-old Amin Mendez yesterday just after four o’clock.   As a result, Mendez, 21-year-old William Ramirez, and a 16-year-old minor were arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply to another. ////
