Over the weekend a twin-jet engine landed early Sunday Morning at the south end of Shipyard Village in the Orange Walk District. Two persons were detained by the Police Department pending further investigation. Today we spoke with the Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams who provided us with an update on the matter.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “Our investigation in that matter continues. We have detained two persons of interest, we’re in the process of interviewing them and trying to gather whatever evidence we can and when we have done so the file will be sent to the DPP for advice on the matter.”

ComPol Williams also spoke about the capture of four illegal immigrants in the south. Reports were that these immigrants had separated from a Honduran Caravan. According to Williams they have not received any information that these men had come from a Honduran caravan.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I don’t know where that information came from that they may have splintered off from any Honduran caravan we do not have that information. Yes the illegal immigrants were caught, they were handed over to Immigration and they’ll be in quarantine.”
