Two residents of Bullet Tree Falls in the Cayo District have been detained following a robbery. Assistant Superintendent, Daniel Iche shared the details.
“Today the 25th of July 2016 at 8:30am Mr.Erie Manzanero of Bullet Tree Falls in the Cayo district reported to the San Ignacio police that sometime between 5 am and 5pm yesterday Sunday the 24th of July his home was burglarized. Stolen therefrom was his licensed 16 gauge shotgun with three cartridges and his licensed 20 gauge shotgun with four cartridges. As a result of this report our special assignment unit along with the criminal investigation branch personnel immediately responded to his report and executed a search warrant to the residence of Santiago Vasquez Jr. a resident of the same village which led to the discovery of the 20 gauge shotgun with the four cartridges. Vasquez was subsequently arrested. They also searched the residents of Randy Manzanero a 23 year old of the same village which resulted in the discovery of a fresh patch of dirt in the yard which indicated that something was buried under. It was dug out and that led to the discovery of the 16 gauge shotgun with the three rounds of cartridges. Mr. Manzanero was subsequently arrested. The persons will be charged with firearm and ammunition offences and for the burglary of Mr. Manzanero’s home. There were some other items that were reported stolen and those items were recovered from these searches.
