DYS Launches Independence Youth Hub

The youth in Independence Village now have greater access to personal development and skill-based training thanks to the Department of Youth Services (DYS). On Friday, the DYS held its first-ever Southern Youth Fest, where it launched the Independence Youth Hub and the Nexus App. The director of the DYS, Kevin Cadle, says the department also received a vehicle. He, along with Humana People to People Belize Grant Administrator Emerson Baptist, explained the importance of reaching youth from across the country, particularly those who traditionally did not have access to government services tailored for youth.
