Early Morning Ambush: Belize City Man Survives Gun Attack, Crashes into Building

Another Belize City man is in the hospital recovering from gunshot wounds after surviving an attempt on his life in the wee hours of today. Around 3:20 a.m., 27-year-old Shane Nolberto and five other persons were in a geo prism on Baymen Avenue when a white SUV began trailing them. The vehicle then overtook Nolberto’s car near the bump in front of GS-com, and someone inside opened fire. The SUV then sped off, while Nolberto lost control and crashed into a building on Kelly Street. Nolberto was shot and transported to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition. Here is Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero once again with more details.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division:  “He was in the area driving in a vehicle when he stopped by Baymen Avenue by a speed bump and another vehicle pulled up and someone from the other vehicle fired several shots causing an injury to him. He is at the KHMH recovering and he is in a stable condition.”
